Self-ligating braces are the first step for anyone seeking an aligned smile with the support of a leading hospital. Aesthetics is the result of science applied with mastery.
At Hospital Odontológico Kaufmann (HOK), we understand that orthodontic precision is fundamental to the health and harmony of the face.
If you want to correct misaligned teeth without the discomfort and slowness of conventional methods, self-ligating braces are the definitive solution.
The End of “Elastics” and the Beginning of Biological Orthodontics!
Unlike traditional treatments that use elastic ligatures — the famous little rubber bands that create excessive friction and make cleaning difficult — self-ligating braces use brackets with smart high-tech clips.
This engineering lets the archwire slide freely, applying light, constant forces.
The result is a more natural biological movement that respects the supporting tissues and reduces treatment time by up to 40%.
At HOK we offer surgical-grade metal or translucent sapphire versions, ensuring flawless aesthetics throughout the process.
Why have your orthodontic treatment in an internationally renowned hospital environment? The answer lies in our integrated approach.
Under the mentorship of Dr. Otávio Kaufmann Jr., a pioneer of digital dentistry in Brazil with specializations in Switzerland, Germany and Italy, we developed the Kaufmann Protocol.
Latest-Generation 3D Diagnosis
Forget uncomfortable plaster impressions.
We begin your journey with a 3D Intraoral Scanner and high-precision CT imaging. This lets us plan every millimeter of tooth movement before placement, ensuring absolute predictability.
We reduce total treatment time by up to 40% with low-friction technology, delivering your perfect smile as fast as your routine demands.
We eliminate elastics and excessive forces, using smart archwires that respect the biology of your tissues for a painless, sophisticated treatment.
We offer translucent sapphire brackets that blend with your tooth enamel, keeping your professional and personal image flawless throughout the journey.
The Kaufmann Protocol allows longer intervals between adjustments and faster appointments, saving your time without compromising the precision of the final result.
The absence of elastic ligatures drastically reduces the build-up of plaque and debris, making cleaning easier and keeping your teeth and gums healthy and bright.
Self-ligating braces at HOK are the definitive, high-tech solution if you want to overcome these barriers and transform the story of your smile as quickly as possible
Designed for those who value every detail.
Your questions answered
Yes. Thanks to the low-friction brackets and heat-activated shape-memory wires, tooth movement is smoother and more constant.
At HOK, personalized digital planning allows up to a 40% reduction in total time compared with conventional methods.
Discomfort is significantly lower. Because we don’t use elastics (which create a lot of friction and require more force), the self-ligating system applies light biological forces.
This makes the alignment process much gentler on the teeth and surrounding tissues.
One of the biggest advantages for people with demanding routines is schedule freedom.
While regular braces require monthly visits, self-ligating braces allow longer intervals, usually 8 to 10 weeks, without compromising the progress of the case.
They are the ideal solution for adults. At HOK we use the Kaufmann Protocol to treat everything from aesthetic alignment to highly complex orthodontic cases. The precision of self-ligating brackets offers superior three-dimensional control, essential for lasting results in mature dentition.
